At first it seems if setting up Entourage - Apple apps (iCal, Mail and Address book) is easy. And you'll probably find that all is well, except the iCal. In my case iCal had content (appointments and ToDo's) and Entourage remained empty. Entourage will only show iCal content if the iCal calender called Entourage (an automatically created calendar in iCal) has the appointments and ToDo's. There is no other way. (Believe me I tried.) So there's one option: copy your content to the Entourage calendar in iCal. This may seem like a task, but it's doable. You can select multiple appointments by shift-click or shift-arrow in the search result list. And then right click (or crtl-click) to move to the Entourage calender (in iCal).

Further I use my Nokia E61 to have calendar and contacts on the go. The Nokia site has the plugin for iSync (the built in Mac OS synchronization).

The Nokia is also the go-between for my Mac at home and the Outlook/Exchange client at work. This runs on Windows and has the standard Nokia sync software for Windows.

The end result is I have to remember to sync on both machines. But that doesn't really hinder me. At the same time for this arrangement I did not need any additional plug-ins or payed services.

To finish off: I also use me.com to bring my vital mac stuff with me on the net and sync Entorage contacts with Gmail (a setting in Entourage), so I now have exactly 1 contact list. Bliss!
