Thanks for this handy program. Please add PAL (alternative to NTSC) playback capability for MPEG-4 videos. Also, it would be nice if the program could also play MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 files, since these are still common on the internet for video clips. Nevertheless, for FLV and MP4, your program is quite excellent. Thanks much.

Hi it's almost a year since the last release of FLV player 2.0 b25.

Your software works great, but there are some times when the seek bar refuses to appear when the video clip is played. Reopening the video clip(double click icon, or browse to video file from inside player) sometimes work and the seek bar appears, but it's a hit-and-miss thing and I am unable to faithfully reproduce this bug or pinpoint the cause. Using Vista SP2(x86), everything patched and latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed.

If you are planning to make a newer version, please look into the above issue.

And yes, it is good to develop for mobile devices(WinMo, Palm, iPhone, Android etc). Those portable gadgets will become more powerful and functional, that it becomes ubiquitous. PCs will go the way of the floppy disk or pager, and only used for specific niche purposes eg. servers.

I carefully looked at the previous 80 or so comments here before posting this question. It was asked before but not answered. I use your player almost exclusively for playing back .flv files on the desktop. I would like to have the same capability for my Windows Mobile phone. Are all of the technologies available for you to create a Windows Mobile version? I want to strongly encourage you to create such an application (with the same clean user interface) even if you decide to sell it, rather than provide it for free. Is a Windows Mobile version from you a realistic, near future possibility? Thanks for a wonderful application.

Hello,

i noticed a very high CPU usage (97-100%) when playing hi-res flv-files (640x480px). Smaller files (320x240px) work great (just about 30% CPU usage).

Is there anything I can do about it or is my computer just too old? I have a Pentium 4, 2 GHz with 512 MB RAM.

Martin

I am unable to remove FLV player 1.3.3 from my pc (xp home). I had installed FLV player 2 but the 1.3.3 version always came up on selecting a flv file. The only way to play a file in the newer version is open it and drag and drop the file into it.

I have done a complete search of my pc but unable to fine FLV player 1.3.3 , I have uninstalled FLV player 2 but it still shows up as FLV player 1.3.3.

Would appreciate your help and expertise on this.
Thanks in advance.

@Mark: do you have a link to the FLV file in particular? Would love to see if I can fix this problem. Thanks! Martijn.

Actually, sometimes it does fix it, and sometimes it just freezes, so I'm not sure what's going on.
